Het Asus A7M266D is het enige moederbord in de roundup dat voorzien moet worden van een ATX 2.03 12V auxilary power connector. Als het bord niet met Accu HP G62m deze auxilary voeding wordt voorzien, treed er datacorruptie op. De anderen zijn ook voorzien van een aansluiting voor deze extra auxilary voeding, maar volgens LostCircuits nemen het MSI en Tyan bord ook genoegen met een normale ATX voeding.

Uit de conclusie blijkt dat alle Accu HP dv6 moederborden zo hun voors en hun tegens hebben. Het Asus moederbord is het snelste, maar daartegenover staat dat er geen netwerk ondersteuning op het moederbord aanwezig is. Doordat er maar drie 33Mhz 32bits PCI sloten op het Accu Asus moederbord aanwezig zijn, valt er dus maar weinig uit te Accu Hp Pavilion dv6t breiden, prik er een USB 2.0 controller, een netwerkkaart en geluidskaart in en het houdt op. Ook zijn de vier gaten rondom de Socket A niet doorboord, dus het gebruik van bijvoorbeeld een Alpha 8045 koeler die doormiddel van deze gaten bevestigd wordt is dus niet bruikbaar. Het MSI K7D-L is een goede alrounder en heeft een ge〓ntegreerde netwerk controller Oplader Pavilion dv6t-1000 dus dat bespaart je een PCI slot. Het Tyan Tiger MPX moederbord heeft net als het Asus moederborden geen gaten rondom de Socket A, maar daar staat tegenover dat het moederbord wel voorzien is van een netwerk controller en vier PCI sloten. Het is dus moeilijk kiezen, zeer zeker Oplader HP Pavilion dv6z gezien dat de drie moederbord qua performance erg dicht bij elkaar in de buurt zitten.

De volgende duale chipset van AMD zal eind van het jaar komen en zal dan de Hammer ondersteunen, dus geen opvolger maar een vervanger. Compaq Presario CQ62 Accu Hierdoor is de verwachting dat er geen updates van de MPX zullen verschijnen. Uit de review is verder gebleken dat de Asus uit de meeste testen het beste naar voren komt, hoewel de MSI er zeker niet veel voor onderdoet, maar kwalitatief is de Asus beter. De Tyan scoort geen ruime voldoende, dit komt voornamelijk door het BIOS, dat in tegenstelling tot die van Accu Presario CQ72 de Asus en MSI geen overklokmogelijkheden heeft. Hoewel in een serveromgeving nauwelijks zal worden overgeklokt, is dit wel een puntje van kritiek. Verder is de Tyan op bijna alle punten slechter dan de Asus en de MSI, ook al staat het moederbord qua configuratie Accu HP Pavilion dm4 en stabiliteit als een huis.

Verder heeft Sony er aan gedacht om er MagicGate copyright-beschermingstechnolgie in te bouwen. Niet alle huidige producten zijn compatible met Accu Acer AS09D34 Memory Stick Pro, maar in sommige gevallen kan dat met een firmware update opgelost worden. In april worden ze in de winkels verwacht voor prijzen van 190, 440 en 880 dollar voor respectievelijk 256, 512 en 1024MB:

Hierbij krijg je in feite twee banken van 128MB, waartussen je met een knopje kunt wisselen. Deze komt rond april op de markt voor 160 dollar. Als laatste aankondiging Acer AS09D70 Accu komen we 64MB en 128MB versies van MagicGate Memory Stick Duo tegen, de mini-versie van het geheugenkaartje die onder andere bedoeld is voor mobiele telefoons.

The Inquirer heeft van een bron bij Nikkon Net vernomen dat het weleens mogelijk Accu Asus K50IE zou kunnen zijn dat Toshiba al in Q2 van dit jaar chips gaat uitbrengen die met behulp van hun 0,09 micron productieproces gebakken zijn. Hierdoor zouden Intel en AMD misschien beteuterd staan te kijken wanneer ze deze primeur aan hun neus voorbij zien gaan. Zoals bekend is Intel al tijden Accu K50IJ druk bezig om hun Prescott core gereed te krijgen. Deze core zou op een 90nm proc〓d〓 gebakken worden en moet in het derde of vierde kwartaal verschijnen. AMD daarentegen heeft eerder door laten schemeren dat zij hun 0.09 micron technologie wat vooruit hebben geschoven en Accu Asus K50IL hier pas in 2004 mee zullen komen. Overigens hoeven de twee grootmachten niet te vrezen voor hun positie op de processormarkt voor pc's, want Toshiba zou de chips voor andere doeleinden gaan gebruiken:

According to the wire, Toshiba will have 90 nanometer chips including a system Asus K50IN Accu chip which includes logic circuitry and memory for use in consoles and home electronics in the second quarter of this year. Toshiba hopes to make over 10,000 semiconductors a month using the new process technology.

Infosync meldt dat Sony een nieuwe PalmOS Accu K50IP handheld heeft aangekondigd. De Clie NZ-90 heeft een opvallende feature: een 2 megapixel digitale camera met flitser. De camera ondersteunt enkele handmatige instellingen en beschikt over 2x digitale zoom. Enkele andere features van de PDA zijn: ingebouwde Bluetooth, de mogelijkheid tot Accu ASUS G51J gebruik van WiFi en een verwijderbare accu. De cradle is ook vernieuwd ten opzichte van haar voorgangers (de NX-70 en NR-70). De cradle van de NZ-90 beschikt over AV-out en kan fungeren als USB-host, waardoor printers en andere USB-apparaten zonder tussenkomst van een pc op de cradle kunnen worden aangesloten. Al deze features zorgden er helaas wel voor dat Asus G51J-1 Accu de nieuwe Clie iets dikker wordt dan zijn voorgangers:

Reuters meldt dat Asus G51J-720 Accu Samsung zo'n 1,2 miljard euro gaat investeren in de modernisering van zijn productie van geheugenchips. Het bedrag wordt besteed aan nieuwe apparatuur die het mogelijk maakt 300mm-wafers te produceren. De nieuwe generatie wafers levert twee keer zoveel chips op als de 200mm-wafer en draagt hiermee bij aan het reduceren van de kosten. Een analist van Hyundai Accu G51J-A1 ASUS G51J-A1-2 Securities wijst erop dat het wellicht een half jaar duurt voordat de productie met de nieuwe techniek winstgevend wordt, omdat de opbrengsten in het begin nog laag zullen zijn.

Samsung is op dit moment marktleider in de Accu Asus G51J-A1-3 geheugenchipindustrie en tevens de enige die winst weet te maken. Het bedrijf loopt met de introductie van 300mm-wafers achter op zijn concurrenten, maar blijft investeren om de koppositie op de markt vast te houden. De start van massaproductie van DRAM-chips en flashgeheugen staat Accu G51J-IX097V ASUS G51J-IX098V gepland voor het derde kwartaal van dit jaar. Hiervoor wordt Samsungs Zuid-Koreaanse chipfabriek, even ten zuiden van de hoofdstad Seoul, gebruikt.

PC Stats heeft de hand weten te leggen op de GNB MAX-FISR, het nieuwe moederbord Accu Asus G51J-IX108V voor werkstations van MSI. Het moederbord is opgebouwd rondom Intels i7205 Granite Bay-chipset, en biedt daarom ondersteuning voor dual-channel PC2100 DDR en Pentium 4's met HyperThreading. De layout van het rode moederbord is dik in orde en alle Asus G51J-IX110V ASUS G51J-SZ028V Accu connectors zijn netjes gelabeld of voorzien van een kleurtje. De GNB MAX-FISR heeft een groot aantal extra features aan boord: onboard Intel gigabit netwerkinterface, drie Firewire-poorten, onboard Promise Serial-ATA RAID-controller. Natuurlijk Accu G51J-SZ045V etc ASUS G51JX vinden we onboard ook een standaard ATA-100 IDE-controller, 5.1-kanaals audio en USB 2.0.

Overklokfuncties ontbreken, maar dat is niet vreemd voor een bord dat eigenlijk bedoeld is voor werkstations. Het moederbord blijkt uitermate stabiel ondanks een voltageprobleem. De reviewer verwacht dat dit in de uiteindelijke productieversie Accu Toshiba Satellite M45 opgelost zal zijn. De prestaties vallen ook niet tegen. Met dual-channel DDR streeft de MSI de concurrentie in bijna alle benchmarks voorbij. Met al deze features en de peperdure Granite Bay-chipset aan boord, zal het geen goedkoop moederbord worden. Accu Toshiba M50 Toch is de reviewer positief:

MSI's GNB MAX-FISR motherboard is very fast solution as you can see from the benchmarks we've shown. It clearly outperforms the i845G (running in DDR333 mode) and most of the time, it's able to outperform even the Accu Toshiba Satellite M55 i850E/PC1066 RDRAM combo. [...] I have no beefs with the GNB MAX, sure there are no overclocking options, but we have to remember that this board is intended for workstations where stability is much more of an issue. In that sense the board proved itself capable, even though the Toshiba Satellite Pro A100 Accu BIOS reported an undervolt to the processor by 0.7V. I'm 100% positive that MSI will have this problem solved when the GNB MAX-FISR is available for retail sale.

De mensen van TweakNews.net hebben een review in elkaar geknutseld over de Accu Toshiba Pro M50 Samsung Syncmaster 241MP 24" TFT monitor. Deze flink geschapen monitor is maar liefst 24" groot en in staat een 1920x1200 resolutie weer te geven. De monitor is ook bruikbaar als (hd)tv en wordt geleverd met afstandsbediening en een tweetal speakers. Accu Tecra A3 De reviewer is erg onder de indruk van de monitor. Het enorme formaat en de goede beeldkwaliteit zijn daar onder andere de oorzaak van. Verder zijn de meegeleverde speakers ook van goede kwaliteit en qua features is de monitor ook erg uitgebreid. Alleen het ontbreken van een Accu Toshiba Tecra A4 DVI-aansluiting is een minpuntje naast het prijskaartje. Dat het prijskaartje uit de kluiten gewassen is zal niet als een verrassing komen, je zal maar liefst 4500 dollar moeten neertellen voordat je jezelf de eigenaar van een 241MP mag noemen:

Volgens The Inquirer is Samsung begonnen met het bouwen van een Accu Fujitsu LifeBook T4010 Tablet PC vijfde generatie TFT-schermen fabriek. Samsung verwacht dat de eerste schermen volgend jaar tijdens de herfst de fabriek uit komen rollen. Dit wordt Samsung's tweede vijfde generatie fabriek en zou ervoor moeten zorgen dat ze de competitie voor blijven. Accu Fujitsu T4010D Tablet PC Hiermee zou volgend jaar het aantal vijfde generatie fabrieken op drie komen. De huidige andere fabriek wordt uitgebaat door LG-Philips die op dit moment een hogere productie heeft dan Samsung's fabriek.

Met de bouw van de nieuwe fabriek probeert Samsung voor te blijven op de Taiwanese competitie. Deze laatste hebben recentelijk de prijzen van hun schermen omlaag gegooid om volgens analist Accu LifeBook T4020 Tablet PC Meko genoeg omzet te draaien om geld vrij te maken om ook over te stappen op vijfde generatie fabrieken. Dit had echter een averechts effect daar de winstmarge hierdoor flink omlaag ging.
